Enhancing Surface Quality Control with a Dimensional and Metallurgical Testing Laboratory

17-03-2026

Customer: EDBRO HİDROLİK SİSTEMLERİ A.Ş.

Industry: Hydraulic Systems Manufacturing

Project Scope: Establishment of Dimensional & Metallurgical Laboratory

Location: Turkey

Background

EDBRO HİDROLİK SİSTEMLERİ A.Ş. is a global manufacturer specializing in telescopic cylinders, hydraulic pumps, and hydraulic system components.

As the company began constructing a new production facility in Turkey, it planned to establish an in-house dimensional and metallurgical laboratory to strengthen its quality control and testing capabilities.

Because of previous cooperation with the customer at other locations, INSIZE was invited to participate in the project during the early stages of factory construction to discuss laboratory planning and equipment configuration.

Customer Requirements

The customer required a laboratory capable of performing a wide range of material and dimensional inspections, including:

Coating thickness inspection

Surface roughness analysis

Metallurgical structure examination

Hardness testing (Rockwell, Brinell, Micro Vickers)

Sample preparation (Cutting, Grinding, Polishing)

Corrosion testing

The customer also shared examples of inspection reports and testing workflows they expected the laboratory to follow.

Based on these requirements, INSIZE proposed a complete laboratory solution covering both dimensional measurement and metallurgical analysis.

INSIZE Laboratory Equipment Solution

INSIZE supplied a complete range of testing and inspection equipment, including:

9501-1200 Coating Thickness Gauge

ISR-C300 Surface Roughness Tester

5103-M1000 Metallurgical Microscope with Software

ISH-MRD200 Rockwell Hardness Tester

HDT-MVH1100 Micro Vickers Hardness Tester

HDT-MB610 Brinell Hardness Tester

MLP-GP314 Grinding & Polishing Machine

MLP-MP30 Bakelite Removal Machine

MLP-CM60 Cutting Machine

ISM-ZS50T Stereo Zoom Microscope

SFT-S210R Salt Spray Corrosion Tester

This configuration enabled the customer to establish a fully functional metallurgical and materials testing laboratory within the new facility.

Why the Customer Chose INSIZE

INSIZE successfully secured the project with its strong technical competence and long-term support capability.

1. Engineering Expertise

INSIZE provided strong technical consultation during the laboratory planning stage, helping the customer select suitable testing technologies and equipment.

2. Application Knowledge

Extensive experience in laboratory setups and metallurgical testing applications allowed the team to understand the customer’s technical expectations and workflow requirements in detail.

3. Future ISO 17025 Support

INSIZE also committed to supporting the customer in the future implementation of ISO 17025 laboratory standards, which was an important strategic consideration for the customer.

4. Local Service Advantage

Another key advantage was the availability of local technical support, including:

• A regional sales engineer responsible for the area

• Fast service response capability

• Strong after-sales support commitment

This assurance of rapid intervention and reliable technical support played a decisive role in the final decision.

Results and Benefits

Despite not being the lowest-price supplier, INSIZE successfully secured the project by demonstrating:

• Strong engineering capability

• A long-term partnership mindset

• Reliable technical and after-sales support

The project resulted in the successful installation of a complete dimensional and metallurgical laboratory, significantly strengthening the customer’s quality assurance capabilities at the new facility.

Conclusion

This project highlights an important lesson in industrial laboratory projects:

Technical credibility, engineering support, and reliable service often outweigh pure price competition.

For manufacturers establishing new laboratories, choosing a partner capable of providing both equipment and application expertise is critical for long-term operational success.
